Ansgar Mayer (24 July, 1972) is a German journalist and the director of media and communications for the Archdiocese of Cologne. He has previously worked in the management of the Axel Springer SE.
Mayer, in a tweet, asked Czechia if they would be willing to take the state of Saxony in exchange for the country's nuclear waste. This tweet was posted as a reaction to the German federal elections of 2017, where the anti-immigration and EU-skeptic party AfD (Alternative for Germany) became the strongest party by taking 27% of the Saxon votes.
