Bertelsmann is a German multinational corporation based in Gütersloh, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It is one of the world's largest mass media companies and also active in the service sector and education. Bertelsmann is owned, in parts directly and also indirectly through the Bertelsmann Foundation, by the Mohr family. The corporation's major divisions include RTL Group, Penguin Random House, Gruner + Jahr, BMG and Arvato.
Bertelsmann's various divisions support the integration of refugees in Germany. The support ranges from giving special education, collecting money through charity to broadcasting news-channels like N-TV with Arabic subtitles.
Bertelsmann is the main financer of the Bertelsmann Foundation, contributing 148,1 million Euro of the foundation's total income of 156,2 million in the year 2015.
