Dunja Hayali (born June 6, 1974) is a Iraqi-German journalist and television presenter.
Hayali is a Störungsmelder (Fault detector) of Gesicht Zeigen! Für ein weltoffenes Deutschland e.V. (Show your face – for a cosmopolitan Germany). The Fault detectors go to classrooms and talk about different subjects, such as right-wing music and symbols, Pegida, asylumseekers and how to combat online racism.
Hayali said in response to the New Year's Eve sexual assaults in Germany: "The events in Cologne, Hamburg, Stuttgart are not outgrowths of any particular culture."
Hayali is an ambassador for the organisation Respekt! Kein Platz für Rassismus (Respect! No place for racism), an initiative which combats racism, discrimination and intolerance.
