Jan Pellervo Vapaavuori (born 3 April 1965 in Helsinki) is a Finnish politician, the former Minister of Economic Affairs, and mayor of Helsinki as of June 2017. Vapaavuori was Minister of Housing and Minister of Nordic Cooperation in Matti Vanhanen's second cabinet and Mari Kiviniemi's cabinet.
Vapaavuori wants increase the population of foreign races in Helsinki, using Stockholm and Copenhagen as models to emulate. He also said, regarding an incident when a Finn didn't get served in Finnish in a restaurant in Espoo, that if the customer is not satisfied with a "foreign entrepreneur" not speaking Finnish, the customer should go elsewhere.
