An Anti-Defamation League (ADL) cyber-hate expert has called on Google to take action following revelations that Holocaust deniers are included in the image bar results for a search of “Holocaust historians.” Jonathan Vick — the ADL’s associate director of investigative technology and cyber-hate — said he was certain that Google would edit the algorithm for the search results to ensure the exclusion of deniers and antisemites.
“One of our main goals for being on the ground in Buenos Aires will be to devise an action plan for developing a coordinated Latin American approach to countering hate, bigotry and anti-Semitism in the region,” said Jonathan Vick, ADL Assistant Director for Cyberhate Response. “With the advent of various social media platforms, and the volume of pernicious content, no continent is immune to the growing phenomenon of online hate. Everyone has a role to play.”
