Michael Roth (24 August 1970) is a German politician and member of the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD). He has been member of the German Bundestag since 27 September 1998 and has been Minister of State for Europe at the German Federal Foreign Office in the government of Chancellor Angela Merkel since 17 December 2013.
Roth created a Facebook post where he thanked the American Jewish Committee for combating anti-Semitism and racism, and for supporting democracy. He thanked David Harris and Deidre Berger in particular for their work.

Roth is in a homosexual marriage with Michael Klöppner. They were married ecclesiastically by pastor and prelate Marita Natt.
Roth is in favour of a 'fair distribution of refugees' among EU Member States.
