The Sebastian Cobler Stiftung (Sebastian Cobler Foundation) is a German foundation. Goals of the foundation are the support of the education of Germans in democratic principles, equality of the sexes and the raising of tolerance on all levels of culture. The Sebastian Cobler Stiftung is a dependent foundation of the Stiftung Citoyen (Foundation Citoyen). Sebastian Cobler (1948-1989) was a Jewish-German human rights lawyer. The Foundation, together with the Amadeu Antonio Foundation and the Freudenberg Foundation, created the Saxon Award for Democracy (Sächsischer Förderpreis für Demokratie). The award is given to projects and organisations that oppose far-right extremism in Saxony. Award winners include the football club Red Star Leipzig (Roter Stern Leipzig), a left-wing club in the Connewitz district of Leipzig, and Open Your Eyes Oberlausitz (Augen auf e.V. Oberlausitz), a registered association which opposes racism and nationalism.
